MUSIC LESSONS WE TEACH
our programs
All of our music classes employ our specialized performance-based teaching techniques, including private music lessons and group rehearsals. Westchase Music School aims to guide its students through a step-by-step process that will lead them towards the ultimate goal of performing live in front of an audience.
Piano Lessons
for ages four & up
Our piano teachers teach a variety of styles from classical to popular music. Whether you want to learn Bach or Alicia Keys, our teachers are happy to help you become the pianist you want to be.
Our piano faculty will show you the fundamentals of sight reading, technique and theory, but they will also incorporate your favorite songs into your lessons.
You do not have to have a piano at home to take lessons. A simple full size electronic keyboard will suffice for the first 6 months. Our piano teachers have warm personalities and enjoy sharing their love for the piano with you. Watch this video to learn more about our piano lessons.
Guitar, Bass Guitar Lessons
for ages six and up
Our guitar teachers teach rock, latin, jazz, blues, metal, country, and classical guitar lessons on electric and acoustic guitars. Beginner students can expect to work on chords, simple songs and melodies, sight reading and theory.
We balance musicianship and fun by making sure that each lesson you are challenged with a new technical or theory concept, but always end with something fun such as your favorite riff or song.
We use a variety of guitar method books to accomplish this and encourage students to bring CDs or their iPod to their lesson to learn their favorite tunes. Watch this video to learn more about our guitar lessons.
Voice Lessons
for ages six and up
Our voice teachers focus on pop, classical, or musical theater depending on the student’s needs. If you have always wanted to be a better Latin, rock, pop, country, jazz, gospel or R&B singer, then we have the right voice teachers for you.
Voice students spend time each week doing physical exercises to improve their vocal range, ear training, breath control, vibrato, tone production, enunciation and more.
All voice students set goals with their teacher to work on sounding like their favorite recording artists, or if they prefer, to develop their own unique voice.
Drum Lessons
for ages six and up
Our drum instructors teach rock, latin, metal, jazz, funk, blues, and many other styles. Drum language can be complex and our instructors will challenge any drummer with a wide variety of technical exercises designed to improve your speed and comfort.
All drummers bring in their favorite drum parts to learn in their lessons and theory is encouraged. We have many drum students who play in local bands be it in rock clubs or their local churches. You do not have to purchase a drum kit to take lessons.
Beginning students can learn with just a drum pad and sticks. Students use our drum set at their lessons and do not have to bring anything except their drum sticks and a notebook.
Woodwind Instrument Lessons
for ages eight and up
Our flute, clarinet, and saxophone teachers will help you become well versed in the styles of jazz, classical, pop, and/or marching band according to your needs. All of our students learn how to read music and understand all the different dynamic, articulation, and other musical markings.
Together with your teacher, you will be able to set goals and strive towards them, whether it be to make 1st chair in your school band, make the all-county or all-state jazz band, or to learn how to play popular movie soundtracks for fun! If you don’t already have an instrument, we can arrange to let you use one of ours out for the first lesson. Then, you would be able to rent one through our rent-to-own program.
Ukulele Lessons

Ukulele is great for beginners, with its soft nylon strings being much gentler in your fingertips. It also only has 4 strings which makes chord shapes & scales easier to learn!

There is a $45 registration fee for each student at the time of registration. Additional family members pay $40 for registration. Students who suspend their lessons for greater than one year must re-register.
All of our programs are based on a month-to-month commitment. Payment for the full month of lessons is due on the first day of the month (this is when your auto-bill occurs). If a student begins lessons in the middle of the month, the remaining lessons in the current month are prorated.
Monthly tuition is based on a 47-week year. The tuition is the same each month. We don’t charge more when there are 5 weeks of lessons and we don’t charge less when there are 3 weeks of lessons in a month.
60 Minute Lesson $300/month
For additional family members the rates are as follows: $140 per month for 30-minute lessons, $215 per month for 45 minute lessons, and $290 per month for 60 minute lessons.
All students over the age of 13 are required to take 45 or 60-minute lessons. This is due to the nature of warm-up times, etc. This is a requirement of our voice instructors.
Each student is required to purchase and bring the following to each lesson:
1. An acceptable student, intermediate or professional instrument (Pianos/Keyboards/Drum Sets do not need to be brought to lessons. Toy instruments cannot be used). If you need to purchase or rent and instrument, please discuss this with us. We are very knowledgeable and can direct you to purchase a quality instrument for your student.
2. Music method book(s) – the exact type of book(s) the student will need will be determined by their instructor on the first lesson. These are available at all of our locations and can be billed to your payment method on file.
3. Metronome
4. Tuner (excl. piano, drums and voice)
5. Spiral-bound notebook for writing lesson assignments and notes
TEACHER: Lessons for any teacher absence will be covered by another instructor on your lesson day. If we do not have another instructor available your teacher will schedule a make-up promptly.
All registered students are required to enroll in our secure auto-bill system. This is a safe, secure and convenient way to pay your ongoing tuition while enrolled at the school. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and ACH (bank draft). We will automatically bill your card on the 1st day of every month. For multiple students and/or instruments, your account will be billed separately for each.
We have a late payment fee policy of $25. If payment is not received by the second lesson of the month it is considered late and the fee will automatically be applied, no exceptions. It is the students/parents responsibility to ensure we have a current credit/debit card or Bank Draft on file for auto-bill purposes.
To withdraw from lessons, you must let the school know of your intent to cancel before the first day of the following month. This allows us to cancel your contract and stop the charge from the following month. If you cancel lessons in the middle of the month, you are already paid for that month, so you may finish out the month of lessons or opt for a credit for the remaining lesson that can be used when you return to lessons. Refunds are not given for cancelled lessons after the first of the month.
